Training with One36 Computing

We are proud to be a LearnDirect Scotland Branded Learning Centre and provide a range of courses and one-to-one tuition. These courses have been approved by ILA Scotland for funding using the Individual Learning Account. In addition, we can provide individual tuition in the use of a wide range of software on both PCs and Apple Macs. For further information about the ILA scheme, click here.

As well as private tuition for adults and children, we provide after-school classes for children aged 5 to 18. These cover core skills in Word Processing, Graphics, Website Publishing, Spreadsheets, Databases and PowerPoint up to European Computer Driving License (ECDL) level. Beyond this we offer tuition in programming and technical work with computers.

During school holidays we offer a programme of week long 'Camps'. These cover a range of topics such as Touch Typing and Web Page Design for older children, while younger children are catered for with 'Pet Shop', 'Superhero' and 'Cartoon' camps.

ECDL at One36

The European Computer Driving License (ECDL) has now established itself as the number one computer user qualification in the UK. It is recognised by virtually all employers looking for such a qualification and for an increasing number of employers it is becoming compulsory for all new staff. It also represents a good standard for anybody wishing to learn more about a particular computer skill.

The qualification consists of 7 modules:

To gain the qualification, each of the modules must be passed successfully by passing a 45 minute test. Tests can be taken at our centre on Comiston Road. Prior to sitting any tests, an ECDL logbook must be purchased at a cost of £35. The cost of the ECDL qualification , including manuals, 7 tests, ECDL Logbook and telephone/email support throughout the duration of study is £220 (or £20 with ILA Scotland funding).
