There are many different reasons why children come to classes at One36. For some it is the ability to complete school work more efficiently and to a higher standard, for others they are seeking a well recognised computer qualification. Many of the older children who attend combine acquiring greater IT knowledge with completing the skill element of the Duke of Edinburgh Award. At the heart of all we do is an element of fun, the children not only come to us to learn but also to enjoy themselves.
Over the 14 years we have been in operation what we teach has changed significantly, which is hardly surprising given the enormous changes which have occurred in computing over that period, and we are always reviewing what we offer to reflect the differences in the use of computers.
Our most popular classes are ECDL, Programming (both Java and Python classes are available) and Touch Typing.
The classes we offer are generally targeted at certain age groups but we are always pleased to discuss what may be appropriate for your child.
In addition to our weekly classes we offer week long holiday “camps” in the Easter and Summer holidays covering topics as diverse as Touch Typing, Games Programming and Web Page Design.
All classes are available on a first come first served basis with a maximum of 6 children in a class.
