Sandy Robertson
Sandy Robertson is the joint owner and the founder of the business. He has a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Glasgow and after graduation spent 12 years with Bank of Scotland in various banking roles. He set up Futurekids, Edinburgh in early 1999, a training company who primarily provided computer tuition to children. In 2004 he decided to broaden the remit of the business and turn it into a technical company offering computer services in addition to the training, at this time the name was changed to One36 Computing as a name better reflecting our overall services. Within the business, Sandy has two principal functions; providing training to adults and children and running the business!
When not spending time at Comiston Road, Sandy is a keen golfer, playing off an ever increasing handicap of 8, and an enthusiastic skier.
Helen Robertson
Helen Robertson is Sandy’s wife and joint owner of One36 Computing. She originally trained as a medical secretary and has had a wide variety of posts over the last twenty years. She is a qualified IFA and currently provides book-keeping services to a number of businesses in and around Edinburgh, including One36 Computing. Apart from looking after her family Helen’s principal obsession is for tennis, closely followed by playing her Cello with the Colinton Orchestra.
Torquil Corkerton
Torquil Corkerton is our longest serving engineer. He has a Computer Science degree from Heriot Watt University and has previously worked with Scottish Widows and Lumison. He joined the One36 team in 2005 and specialises in repairs and training for Apple Mac users. He is also very involved in the setup and repair of public access wireless network facilities. All of Torquil’s spare time is given over to the Territorial Army, where he holds the rank of Captain, and piping with the Royal Scots Association Pipe Band which he helps run.
Jennifer Dickson
Jennifer Dickson is the newest and youngest member of the team having joined us in 2008. She previously worked for Edinburgh Crystal and Smart Cartridge in administrative roles. Jennifer is our principal administrator and first point of contact for most of our customers. She is responsible for making sure that all other members of staff know where they are supposed to be, what they are supposed to be doing there and when they are supposed to be doing it. Jennifer is a proud Penicuik girl having recently moved back to her home town after spending some time living in the dark metropolis of Edinburgh.
Bojan Grlica
Bojan Grlica is our Slovenian engineer who joined us in 2006. He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering and Electronics from the College of Maribor in Slovenia. He previously worked for RoLAN, a technical company in Slovenia. Bojan is our main fixer for Windows based systems. If there is a solution to be found for a problem Bojan will find it. His young family occupies most of his non-working time.
